SQN Banking Systems Now Offering Cloud-Based Fraud Detection

RANCOCAS, N.J., March 7 — SQN Banking Systems, a leading provider of integrated fraud detection and process improvement products for the financial industry, announced today that its suite of SENTRY applications will be offered as a cloud-based, Software as a Service (SaaS) model. By making its proven fraud detection technology available remotely, SQN makes software deployment easier and more cost effective.

SQN President Joe Uhland explained the enhancement is the next step in the evolution of the company, which is celebrating its 30-year anniversary in 2013.

"As a leader in fraud detection, it's important to continue developing technology to meet ever-changing threats, while working to make the use of that technology easier for our customers," said Uhland. "By offering cloud-based, SaaS software, we can provide our customers with flexible alternatives to meet their needs."

SQN's cloud applications allow financial institutions to rapidly deploy fraud detection tools without having to manage IT infrastructure to support these applications. The database and application servers, as well as disaster recovery, are maintained in the cloud. This enables the institution to reallocate their IT operating costs elsewhere.

Moving to a cloud platform also means that upgrades and updates are released automatically without the need to install new software on site.  End users access the SaaS applications through a web browser.

The SQN products currently offered via the cloud include: SENTRY: SigCheck, SENTRY: Inspect, SENTRY: Payee Lift, SENTRY: PayeePosPay, SENTRY: Seal, SENTRY: UltraCheck, SENTRY: Detect, SENTRY: Fraud Alert, and SENTRY: Exception.

About SQN Banking Systems

For 30 years, SQN Banking Systems has provided superior fraud detection products to the financial industry.  We now offer cloud-based applications which can be deployed at your financial institution without additional hardware or software. The SENTRY suite includes real-time fraud analysis, exception item processing, image fraud detection, transaction analysis, automated and visual signature verification, official check verification, and safe deposit management.

CometCloud: Using a Federated HPC-Cloud to Understand Fluid Flow in Microchannels

The ever-growing complexity of scientific and engineering problems continues to pose new computational challenges. Thus, we present a novel federation model that enables end-users with the ability to aggregate heterogeneous resource scale problems. The feasibility of this federation model has been proven, in the context of the UberCloud HPC Experiment, by gathering the most comprehensive information to date on the effects of pillars on microfluid channel flow.

CERN, Google, and the Future of Global Science Initiatives

Large-scale, worldwide scientific initiatives rely on some cloud-based system to both coordinate efforts and manage computational efforts at peak times that cannot be contained within the combined in-house HPC resources. Last week at Google I/O, Brookhaven National Lab’s Sergey Panitkin discussed the role of the Google Compute Engine in providing computational support to ATLAS, a detector of high-energy particles at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
