ROSEVILLE, Calif., Feb. 26 – Cloud Cruiser, the pioneer in Cloud Cost Management, today announced the release of their 2.1 Enterprise Edition, representing the broadest support for industry-leading private and public cloud platforms and securing the company's position as the premier IT financial management solution for the hybrid cloud.
With its 2.1 offering, Cloud Cruiser now supports Cisco Intelligent Automation for Cloud, VMware vCloud Director, System Center 2012 SP1, HP Cloud Service Automation 3.1, 3Par, Aptare, and the new API and Tagging feature of Amazon Web Services. These offerings are in addition to their existing portfolio of cloud solutions which include HP CloudSystem, OpenStack, VMware vCenter, and other industry-standard hypervisors, databases, and applications.
Hybrid cloud adoption is expected to reach 50% by 2016, increasing the urgency for cost management in what is inherently a diverse and complex environment. Additionally, the role of the IT organization is shifting into that of a service provider, which is driving the need for new capabilities to understand, control, and charge for IT usage and spending in private and public cloud environments.
According to Gartner, "Most organizations are beginning to see the benefits of commercial chargeback tools and are using these tools to provide greater transparency of costs, particularly in a multisourced environment where service costs from internal, outsourced, external and cloud computing environments need to be managed to make sourcing decisions."
Cloud Cruiser is unique in the industry in that it is architected for heterogeneous computing environments. Cloud Cruiser addresses the needs of large enterprises that demand a combination of private cloud environments built on platforms like VMware, HP CloudSystem, or Cisco Intelligent Automation for Cloud, as well as public clouds like Amazon.
"Cloud Cruiser is an enabling technology for IT as a Service," states Dave Zabrowski , Founder and CEO of Cloud Cruiser. "The reality is that internal IT organizations now have to compete with external service providers, which means offering competitive pricing, service level agreements, real-time spending alerts, and pay-per-usage billing. This requires a purpose-built financial management system for the hybrid cloud from Cloud Cruiser."
