SUNNYVALE, Calif., and YOKNEAM, Israel, Feb. 25 – Mellanox Technologies, Ltd., a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end interconnect solutions for data center servers and storage systems, today announced enhancements to its worldwide channel program, providing partners with added resources to take advantage of opportunities in high growth markets such as cloud, Web 2.0 and big data. Mellanox channel partners have access to important tools and collateral through the new Mellanox channel partner portal, in addition to certified professional training courses and blueprints for building cloud and storage infrastructures.

Solutions include Mellanox's Virtual Protocol Interconnect (VPI) technology, which allows InfiniBand and Ethernet to co-exist on the same networking platform and enables simple migration as customers continue to scale to higher performance and cost-effective interconnect deployments.

The ever-growing complexity of scientific and engineering problems continues to pose new computational challenges. Thus, we present a novel federation model that enables end-users with the ability to aggregate heterogeneous resource scale problems. The feasibility of this federation model has been proven, in the context of the UberCloud HPC Experiment, by gathering the most comprehensive information to date on the effects of pillars on microfluid channel flow.
Large-scale, worldwide scientific initiatives rely on some cloud-based system to both coordinate efforts and manage computational efforts at peak times that cannot be contained within the combined in-house HPC resources. Researchers from the University of Bonn in Germany examined those latency issues of doing CFD modeling in the cloud by utilizing a common CFD and its utilization in HPC instance types including both CPU and GPU cores of Amazon EC2.
