ProfitBricks Offers Startups Free Cloud Services

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Feb. 14 – ProfitBricks, the infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) company that completely reengineered the delivery of cloud computing, today announced the nationwide availability of the ProfitBricks Foundation Program for startups. Qualifying startups are eligible to receive ProfitBricks' virtual data centers, featuring the industry's first user-defined network configurations, at a considerably reduced cost for one year. ProfitBricks launched the Foundation Program to New England-area startups in December and is now offering the same incentives to startups across the United States.

"In our business, performance is key, any delays with our website or search engine equals lost business," said Robert Strobel, VP of AllTrips.com. "We chose ProfitBricks because they were the highest performing public cloud provider allowing our front-end and back-end to leverage 80 Gb/s private cloud networks."

Eligible startups include those with at least one U.S. office and revenue of less than $1 million per year. These companies will receive 20 percent off of their IaaS services from ProfitBricks for one year and have access to a cloud server from ProfitBricks for one year without cost.

Bucking the industry norm, ProfitBricks' clear, simple pricing model gives startups the freedom to avoid long-term contracts and astonishingly confusing and complex traditional cloud computing pricing models.

"Startups demand a cost-effective cloud computing alternative and ProfitBricks is answering that call," said ProfitBricks USA CEO Bob Rizika. "Our unmatched overall performance using InfiniBand technology is an industry first and current Foundation Program startups are already experiencing the benefits. We are ready to give startups nationwide the additional incentive to get up and running faster."

Easier to Setup and Maintain – InfiniBand Boosts Speed and Security

In the six months since launching the industry's highest performing cloud computing IaaS services, ProfitBricks introduced a number of industry firsts and was recognized as a top startup to watch.

Part of its success stems from ProfitBricks' introduction of an InfiniBand backed network to cloud computing, the same technology used in high performance computing environments (HPC). This industry breakthrough offers more than eight times the available speed from any other cloud provider.

Offering dedicated cores, free software defined networks, and double redundant high-speed storage, ProfitBricks is determined to keep IaaS computing as easy and efficient as possible.

"The onboarding process was easy and quick. ProfitBricks support has been incredibly responsive and helpful in answering all of our questions. Their virtual data center model allows us to quickly and easily increase capacity as our needs change," says George Papazickos, director of products, ProSent Mobile. "While our experience with our previous provider was good, ProfitBricks delivers the best overall value while requiring less effort to setup and maintain."

ProfitBricks strives to make the setup and maintenance of cloud computing environments simple. The company provides system administrator engineer-level personal support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is the world's first cloud computing service that includes an easy-to-use drag-and-drop Data Center Designer.

About ProfitBricks

ProfitBricks – Cloud Computing 2.0 – is the cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) company offering more speed and flexibility than any other cloud provider. Founded in 2010 by the previous co-founders of 1&1 AG, ProfitBricks has built the world's first, true virtual datacenter, enabling users custom defined instances with live vertical scaling and class-leading double redundant cloud storage – all with simple and transparent minute-based billing. It also developed the first graphical Data Center Designer that makes the ProfitBricks Cloud Computing service the easiest to setup and maintain. CRN Magazine recently picked ProfitBricks as the "Coolest Startup" of 2012.
