SMART Storage Presents at Server Design Summit


NEWARK, CA, Nov. 26 –

WHAT: Esther Spanjer, Director of SSD Technical Marketing at SMART Storage Systems, will present on a panel titled "Increasing Storage Performance" during tomorrow's Server Design Summit. During the presentation, Spanjer will explore the topic of "Improving Server Performance with Solid-State Storage," highlighting the drawbacks of leveraging client-class solid-state drives (SSDs) in enterprise applications, and how this quickly escalates the total cost of ownership (TCO) of storage. Miss Spanjer will also provide insight into recent advancements in Flash endurance enhancement technology that increase the endurance of consumer-grade multi-level cell (MLC) Flash, enabling more cost-effective, server-grade SSDs to be deployed.

Other topics being discussed by the panel include "Practical Ways to Accelerate Virtual Servers" by Andy Mills, CEO of Enmotus; "Full TCP Offload Increases Network Efficiency by 95%" by Kelly Masood, CTO of Intilop; and "Busting Through I/O bottlenecks with PCIe Flash Caching" by Steve Fingerhut, vice president of marketing at LSI.

WHO: Esther Spanjer is Director of SSD Technical Marketing at SMART Storage Systems. With more than 15 years of experience in the flash and storage industry, Miss Spanjer has gained valuable knowledge on the requirements for flash-based storage solutions in embedded, industrial and enterprise storage applications. Miss Spanjer has authored more than 20 articles in international publications and conference proceedings, and has been chosen to speak at a number of industry events, including IDEMA, DiskCon, Server Design Summit, Storage Networking World USA and Europe, and the Flash Memory Summit. Spanjer formerly worked for msystems and STEC, and holds a B.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering from the Technical University Amsterdam (Netherlands).
