REYKJAVIK, Iceland and BOULDER, CO, Nov. 1 – GreenQloud, the world’s first Truly Green public compute cloud (IaaS) and data storage service, today announced a partnership with Standing Cloud, a leading provider of cloud application marketplace and management solutions. The new offering, GreenQloud powered by Standing Cloud, enables users to discover, deploy and manage applications on GreenQloud’s renewable energy-powered IaaS through a simple-to-use application marketplace.
Integrating directly with the GreenQloud infrastructure and its AWS-compatible API, the Standing Cloud Application Marketplace provides a catalog of 100-plus applications, software, development tools and deployment options, all fully pre-configured to run instantly and reliably on GreenQloud’s clean cloud.
Once an application is deployed, automated application lifecycle management features give GreenQloud customers an easy way to manage their applications on a continuing basis, including monitoring, scaling, back-ups, upgrades, auto-restore and more. In addition to application management features available through Standing Cloud, GreenQloud’s Truly Green dashboard enables customers to monitor their carbon emissions savings, which can be incorporated into a company’s sustainability initiatives.

Researchers from the University of Bonn in Germany examined those latency issues of doing CFD modeling in the cloud by utilizing a common CFD and its utilization in HPC instance types including both CPU and GPU cores of Amazon EC2.
