Interoute Uses Infinera to Support 100GbE Network


SUNNYVALE, Calif., and LONDON, Oct. 16 — Infinera, a leading provider of Digital Optical Networks, and Interoute, owner of Europe's largest cloud services platform, today announced Interoute's 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) services using the Infinera DTN. Interoute, whose pan-European network was among the first in Europe to deploy Infinera's DTN four years ago, is the first to offer the most broadly available 100 GbE services in Europe, another demonstration of Interoute's constant drive and focus on innovation in the information and communication technology marketplace.

Interoute's network is one of the most extensive in Europe, spanning across 60,000 kilometers of lit fiber, connecting 30 countries in 102 cities. Interoute serves enterprises and telecom operators worldwide from Stockholm to Sicily, Moscow to Madrid, London to Istanbul, with voice, video, computing and high capacity international data bandwidth and network infrastructure. The Infinera DTN platform, built with photonic integrated circuits (PICs), offers Interoute unmatched operational simplicity and scalability.
