Eucalyptus Launches Authorized Education and Consulting Partner Programs

Leading on-premise cloud provider expands partner programs to meet the needs of a growing, global customer base

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., June 26 — Eucalyptus Systems, creator of the most widely deployed on-premise cloud computing platform, today launched the Eucalyptus Authorized Education Partner (EAEP) and Authorized Consulting Partner (EACP) Programs. The EAEP Program enables Eucalyptus partners to deliver Eucalyptus authorized training courses using Eucalyptus Certified Instructors (ECI), while the EACP Program recognizes Eucalyptus partners who have developed a high level of competency in designing and implementing Eucalyptus cloud solutions.

"These new programs enable our partners to provide value-added consulting and training services for Eucalyptus," said Andy Knosp, vice president of professional services at Eucalyptus Systems. "Customers are rapidly embracing Eucalyptus' open approach to cloud computing as demonstrated by our enablement of 25,000 cloud starts annually. Eucalyptus partners can leverage these new partner programs to expand their portfolio of offerings and drive incremental revenue opportunities."

Eucalyptus Authorized Education Partner (EAEP) Program

The EAEP Program offers a number of benefits to Eucalyptus partners, including the ability to generate additional revenue streams, access to robust Eucalyptus-authorized software, classroom setup guides, and internal-use software. Other benefits include:

  • Registration in Eucalyptus-sponsored "train the trainer" events
  • Opportunities to participate in beta or non-public classes prior to their release
  • Invitations to participate in beta technical certification offerings
  • Support from Eucalyptus Education Services staff for successful course delivery
  • Access to the Eucalyptus Education Cloud
  • Use of the EAEP program logo

Eucalyptus Authorized Consulting Partner (EACP) Program

The EACP Program provides numerous benefits to partners, allowing them to expand their consulting services portfolio and differentiate their company in the market by demonstrating a high-level of competency in Eucalyptus' on-premise IaaS solution. Other program benefits include:

  • Access to best practices and engagement methodologies developed by Eucalyptus Professional Services
  • Access to Eucalyptus internal-use software and the Eucalyptus Partner Cloud (EPC)
  • Discounted Eucalyptus training and certification
  • Marketing promotion via the Eucalyptus web site and use of the EACP program logo

Eucalyptus Certified Professional

In April 2012, Eucalyptus announced the Eucalyptus Certified Professional (EUCP3) technical certification, which tests candidates on their ability to perform essential design, installation, configuration, and management functions for a Eucalyptus 3 deployment. As part of the new EAEP and EACP programs, companies will also earn EUCP3 certification. The EUCP3 beta exam will be available in July 2012.

What EAEP and EACP Partners are Saying:

"Our work with Eucalyptus architecting and configuring cloud solutions gives customers a clear path for successfully deploying on-premise IaaS and private clouds in preparation for later migrating to a secure hybrid or public cloud. Our adoption of Eucalyptus' leading private cloud technology, which mirrors the APIs used in Amazon Web Services, gives our customers a seamless path for migration to Amazon's FISMA and HIPAA compliant GovCloud. Certification as a Eucalyptus Authorized Consulting Partner validates our expertise in implementing a full-lifecycle of private and public cloud solutions," said Dr. Tom Woteki, Chief Architect and Sr. Vice President, Strategy and Solutions at Acentia.

"As a services and integration company, we continuously strive for the ability to deliver best-of-breed solutions to our customers. By partnering with Eucalyptus, Cloud2Spec has more tools at our disposal to deliver what customers require to achieve their cloud computing goals. The Eucalyptus Authorized Consulting Partner program enhances that ability by ensuring that we will be able to maintain a level of competency and expertise delivering on-premise IaaS clouds utilizing the Eucalyptus software," said Dan Anderson, CEO at Cloud2Spec.

"Recognition as a Eucalyptus Authorized Consulting Partner allows us to demonstrate competency and expertise in implementing Eucalyptus on-premise IaaS clouds and provide a comprehensive suite of consulting services and solutions to our customers," said Vaibhav Tewari, Vice President & Business Head, Cloud Services at Microland.

"Involvement in the Eucalyptus Authorized Consulting Partner program highlights our expertise with Eucalyptus's on-premise IaaS software and will help us grow revenue by offering Eucalyptus consulting services to customers transitioning to the cloud," said Jeff Schneider, CEO at MomentumSI.
