MicroTech Unveils Advanced Virtual Environment for Private Cloud Computing

Award-winning service provider expands cloud brand of product solutions

VIENNA, Va., May 17 — Leading Service Provider and Technology Integrator MicroTech announces a new cloud computing solution — the MicroTech Advanced Virtual Environment; a next generation technology solution that offers a high-performance, highly available and scalable, ready-to-activate private cloud. The new solution from MicroTech will be unveiled at EMC World 2012, May 21 – 24, in Las Vegas.

The Advanced Virtual Environment solution combines the next-generation MicroTech MicroPodd portable data center with a CA AppLogic turnkey cloud platform, monitoring solution, business intelligence reporting tool, and cloud minder identity management service to deliver a comprehensive private cloud solution — meeting all NIST cloud characteristics.

"This new MicroTech technology solution will become a game-changer in the growing field of private cloud computing," said Tony Jimenez, MicroTech President & CEO. "The Advanced Virtual Environment is seamless enough to provide a ready-to-activate private cloud solution, and versatile enough to fit in with virtually any data center configuration."

"MicroTech is on the cutting edge, delivering a comprehensive, pre-packaged private cloud solution to the public sector," said Joe Page, senior vice president of area sales, CA Technologies. "Powered by the CA AppLogic platform, the MicroTech Advanced Virtual Environment will enable MicroTech's customers to seamlessly transition from maintaining IT systems to delivering new, innovative business services with speed and agility."

The MicroTech Advanced Virtual Environment features all the virtual characteristics and functions of a private cloud and capably supports all three standard cloud delivery models: IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.

It is available with a variety of MicroPodd configurations, including Desktop, Portable, and Modular data center versions, as well as 20-foot and 40-foot containerized mobile data centers, to meet a wide variety of capacity requirements.

It comes preconfigured in standard operating systems with templates for Windows, Linux, and Solaris operating systems. Cloud provisioning and management processes automate the setup of the Private Cloud Environment, including the creation of virtual server instances, installation of operating systems, and application loading.

Out of the box, the MicroTech Advanced Virtual Environment supports all Army Private Cloud Mobile (APC2) service support processes, and can be configured to support APC2 service delivery as well.
