UC Irvine Extension Announces New Summer Amazon Web Services Online Course


Free Java Development Webinar to be held June 7

IRVINE, Calif., May 8 — University of California, Irvine Extension announced today the launch of a new online course titled 'Amazon Web Services for Java Developers.' The course will address a variety of JavaEE concepts and techniques, and will be held from July 25 through September 9. UC Irvine Extension will also offer a free webinar titled 'Amazon Web Services for Java Developers', which will be held on Thursday June 7 from 11:30am to 12:30 pm PDT. The webinar will cover trends impacting cloud computing and the larger web development industry.

"In today's technology-driven environment, individuals who understand cloud computing tools and applications are in high demand," said Dr. Dave Dimas, director of engineering, sciences and information technology at UC Irvine Extension. "UC Irvine Extension's technology courses deliver the latest and most practical cloud computing training available, helping individuals expand their skill set and become more marketable."

The ‘Amazon Web Services For Java Developers' online course will provide participants with an understanding of IT infrastructure services to businesses in the form of web services. Participants will also learn and work with the available Amazon Web Services (AWS) and be able to design a new JavaEE application from the ground up.

The course instructor is Craig S. Dickson, an independent enterprise software consultant. Dickson has 15 years of experience as a software development professional and specializes in enterprise Java development and cloud architecture.
