HyperTransport Consortium Discusses Mission Critical Cluster Infrastructure for Cloud Providers and Scalable Datacenters

Mario Cavalli, general manager, to speak at Ethernet Technology Summit

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 21 —

What:
The HyperTransport Technology Consortium will present "Passive Networks - Best Approach for Mission-Critical Clusters" in Session 1-201 at the Ethernet Technology Summit. Mario Cavalli, general manager of the HyperTransport Consortium, will discuss how reliability, fault tolerance and downtime avoidance are becoming center stage challenges for large scale data center power users. He will also discuss the best approach to drastically reduce these challenges through the use of open standard technology such as HyperShare.

Who:
Mario Cavalli, general manager, HyperTransport Consortium

When:
Thursday, February 23, 8:30 - 9:45 a.m.

Where:
Ethernet Technology Summit, Doubletree by Hilton, 2050 Gateway Place, San Jose, Calif.

About Ethernet Technology Summit

Ethernet Technology Summit focuses on the latest advances in Ethernet technology, particularly the new specifications for 40/100 GbE, Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), Hadoop, TRILL, and OpenFlow. It features the latest information on these advances from the experts who are developing the specifications and designing the initial products for them. It is a must-attend conference for those who are deciding whether to use the new specifications or design products for them or are in the initial stages of product design. The Summit also covers cloud computing, virtualization, terabit Ethernet, Data Center Ethernet, carrier Ethernet, Ethernet security, design and development issues, and Ethernet chipsets. The Silicon Valley's premier event focused on Ethernet includes an informative Beer, Pizza, and Chat with the Experts evening gathering. For more information, visit http://www.ethernetsummit.com.

About the HyperTransport Technology Consortium

The HyperTransport Technology Consortium is a membership-based, non-profit organization that licenses, manages and promotes industry standard HyperTransport Technology. HyperTransport technology is at the heart of the HyperShare technology platform, an entirely new approach to highly scalable data center and mission critical high-performance cluster design. HyperShare enables hardware-level cross-cluster resource sharing, providing unprecedented Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reductions, combined with state-of-the-art latency performance needed for tomorrow's data center, cluster and cloud computing environments. The HyperShare platform can be universally deployed with any CPU architecture and with Ethernet, InfiniBand or switchless HyperShare-native network infrastructures. Founded in 2001, the Consortium hosts a strong ecosystem of members that includes technology leaders, start ups and academia licensing the royalty-free use of HyperTransport technology and intellectual property. To learn more about the Consortium, its members and prevalence of HyperTransport technology, visit the Consortium website at http://www.hypertransport.org.
