Biomax Launches the PEDANT Cloud Service

The PEDANT Cloud Service transforms complex sequencing data into valuable results

PLANEGG, Germany, Feb. 14 — Biomax Informatics announces a new cloud-based online sequence analysis service. Starting today, the PEDANT Cloud Service offers the proven accuracy of the Pedant-Pro Sequence Analysis Suite as a subscription service enabling researchers to easily load sequences and receive a complete genome analysis online. The service is available at http://www.biomax.com/cloud.

Building on the proven Pedant-Pro Sequence Analysis Suite and years of genome analysis experience, Biomax now offers the PEDANT Cloud Service to rapidly transform complex sequencing data into more meaningful, interpretable information. The analysis results are presented as uniform data sets, which can be easily explored, searched or exported for use in other research workflows. Intuitive online DNA and protein viewers provide a navigational context for browsing the data. All sequences and results are maintained in a private cloud environment to ensure privacy and security.

"Sifting through the sheer amount of data produced by next-generation sequencing techniques poses a real bottleneck in the life sciences. We're offering the PEDANT Cloud Service to help researchers cut through this bottleneck so they can focus on discovery and innovation," says Dr. Klaus Heumann, CEO of Biomax.

"Our aim is to provide fast, secure access to the most comprehensive and accurate sequence analysis available," explains Dr. Kaj Albermann, head of Genome Annotation. "For years, our customers have praised the high-quality annotation and intuitive interfaces of the Pedant-Pro suite. The cloud-based service allows us to reach an even wider range of users — and give them each a personal space where they can make sense of their genomic data, browse the genomes and be inspired by the results."

The PEDANT Cloud Service is available now for bacterial and fungal nucleotide sequences. Biomax offers analysis of further genomes and sequence types upon request.
