HPC Advisory Council Increases Membership to Over 300 Organizations

Council increases HPC awareness, education and resources through robust global membership

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 9 — The HPC Advisory Council, a leading organization for high-performance computing research, outreach and education, announced today that its global membership has increased to over 300 member organizations. Council members consist of a wide range of companies and end-users, including best-in-class original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), strategic technology suppliers, independent software vendors (ISVs) and selected end-users across the entire range of HPC market segments. The complete list of members can be found on the HPC Advisory Council website at www.hpcadvisorycouncil.com.

"Through our exceptional growth in global membership within the past three years, the council is able to continue to offer valuable resources and programs to the HPC community," said Gilad Shainer, chairman of the HPC Advisory Council. "Due to our member support, we're considered by IT end-users a valuable educational and support resource. We continue to provide successful international events and programs, providing the industry with the tools needed to conduct better research, innovation and product manufacturing."

Formed in May of 2008, the HPC Advisory Council continues to bridge the gap between high-performance computing (HPC) use and its potential, bringing the beneficial capabilities of HPC to new users for better research, education, innovation and product manufacturing. The council has developed over 150 best practices for over 40 HPC and cloud-based applications, providing the HPC end-user community with valuable information to improve their system and application usage.

The HPC Advisory Council holds multiple conferences throughout the year that focus on HPC education, hands-on and classroom training and overviews of new important HPC developments and trends. The next conference, which will be held at Tel-Aviv University in Tel-Aviv, Israel on February 7, 2012, will focus on HPC usage models and benefits, the future of supercomputing in Israel, latest technology developments and trends around the world, how high-performance computing can benefit small to large businesses and accelerate research activities, HPC best practices and advanced HPC topics. For a complete agenda and schedule, please refer to the conference website. Registration is open to the public, free of charge and can be made at the HPC Advisory Council Israel Supercomputing Conference registration page.
