Morphlabs Launches Dynamic Resource Scaling Technology


On-demand cloud bursting supports enterprises in "bursting" additional workload to an external cloud, locally or via carrier Ethernet exchanges

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif., Nov. 9 — Morphlabs, the leader in converged Dynamic Infrastructure Services for the Enterprise, today announced the launch of Dynamic Resource Scaling (DRS), a technology which extends the OpEx advantages of the mCloud Data Center Unit (DCU) for true cloud bursting potential. The DRS solution allows enterprises to scale computes and storage on dedicated hardware on demand – either locally or via an Ethernet carrier exchange.

Many enterprises looking toward the benefits of public cloud-style scaling are deterred by increasingly complex compliance and regulatory requirements. Essential for sophisticated cloud bursting, Dynamic Resource Scaling elastically allocates physical resources while managing virtualized needs. By utilizing DRS with the mCloud DCU, private clouds can expand while retaining security and control – making optimized workflow a reality. And, service providers are finally able to "burst" additional workload to an external cloud on an on-demand basis, offering hosted private cloud and Dynamic Infrastructure Services to their customers at competitive pricing.

According to a recent Forrester study, "Cloud-using companies are starting to accept cloud bursting as a means to help further reduce costs for their cloud environments and increase efficiency. The dynamic combination of external cloud resources with spare capacity on-premises is a key strategy to achieve this goal." Morphlabs introduced the findings of Forrester's Custom Technology Adoption Profile at an exclusive CIO research discussion and breakfast roundtable on the impact of cloud computing on IT procurement for the enterprise, "Cloud for the 21st Century," which the company hosted at the Clift Hotel in San Francisco, Calif. on October 19, 2011.
