Stratus Technologies Publishes 'Fault Tolerance for Dummies'


MAYNARD, Mass., Dec. 10 -- Fault tolerance and continuously available computing get an easy-to-read update today with the release of Stratus Technologies' "Fault Tolerance For Dummies" book, which is available free of charge through the company Web site.

The 44-page book in the popular "Dummies" format describes how fault tolerant computing has evolved away from its proprietary and specialized origins into a standards-based technology with broad applications in new areas such as virtualization. Using tutorials and customer anecdotes, the book helps readers evaluate their availability needs and how fault-tolerant solutions can meet them.
