Systems Inc., a world leader in enterprise infrastructure software,
WebLogic Server 10.3, which will be the next release of the world's
leading Java application server based on the Java Platform, Enterprise
Edition (Java EE) 5. With this release, BEA will be supporting key
enterprise initiatives including Web 2.0, enhancements for
service-oriented architecture (SOA), as well as delivering on its
BEA continues to invest in and innovate on WebLogic Server by adding
key Web 2.0 capabilities that combine rich, highly interactive user
interface client applications with the rock-solid enterprise foundation
of WebLogic Server. SOA also continues to be a major focus for BEA in
this release. WebLogic Server 10.3 will offer standards updates and
interoperability with Microsoft .NET to ensure that enterprises deliver
services quickly and easily. Additional features include support for
Java SE 6, SAML 2 and Spring 2.1, which will provide significant
control, improved security and OSS enhancements.
BEA introduced mSA last year with the goal of delivering a
lightweight platform based on native SOA standards and designed to be more open, interoperable, embeddable
and naturally extensible for third-party development. WebLogic Server
10.3 represents a key milestone around BEA's engineering investment in
modularity with improved capabilities and new lightweight options for
installation that increase developer speed and dramatically reduce the
overall footprint of WebLogic Server.

By running BEA WebLogic Server 10 on an UltraSPARC T1 based Sun Blade 6000 Modular System, BEA achieved the overall highest SPECjAppServer2004 performance score in the industry.
