SOASTA Announces Beta Release of SOASTA Concerto


SOASTA Inc., a Silicon Valley-based start-up, has announced the beta release of its visual web testing service, SOASTA Concerto. Available in a closed alpha to a limited number of users since September, SOASTA Concerto is a new way for technical and non-technical users to create and test complex web-based applications in just hours -- instead of weeks or months -- at a fraction of the cost of alternative solutions, according to the company.

The alternative, hand-coded XML and Perl scripts, is time-intensive and cost prohibitive. Designed for small to medium businesses (SMBs) and workgroups of larger corporations, SOASTA Concerto allows the creation of complex message scenarios that can be run against any web application or service.

Private alpha customers are already using SOASTA Concerto including Everdream, KACE and OpSource.

"The SOASTA Concerto web testing service is a great example of the kind of infrastructure needed to make SOA scalable," said Dave Hollander, co-inventor of XML, and chairman and CTO, Contivo Inc. "As SOA and web services continue to become the predominant enterprise architecture, applications are being built and integrated by teams, not individuals. The SOASTA Concerto service enables anyone to easily create and test web applications and the visual approach scales testing to the level needed for a team."

"The unique, visual environment turns test cases into reusable objects which allows new testing scenarios to be quickly created and modified."
